School of Mareck Center for Dance’s adaptive dance program, DanceAbility, was pioneered by Jennifer Highbarger as mid-Missouri’s only program providing an opportunity for children and adults to learn and grow through dance. This movement based therapy supports the development not only of critical motor and social skills, but also self-confidence and personal growth through creative expression.
Please join us for DanceAbility’s first annual fundraiser, ‘Art Supporting the Arts,’ on Friday, August 26th, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Logboat Brewery in Columbia, with a rain date of Thursday, September 8th.
Enjoy a brew and a silent auction of fabulous art donated by local artists. Logboat will donate $1 per beer sold during the event to DanceAbility! Also on location for this family friendly event will be the “Playing With Fire” pizza truck and a temporary tattoo station for the kids.
All proceeds will go directly to covering the costs of participation in the program for special needs students and their families, with the goal of making the program completely tuition free.
We hope you will be able to join us for a fun night and an opportunity meet some of our amazing students!
