Now in its 17th season, Mareck Dance – formerly Missouri Contemporary Ballet – brings accessible, edgy, world-class dance to mid-Missouri.

As the area’s only professional dance company, we inspire audiences through performances that are as fun and bold as they are athletic and technically challenging.

Each season Mareck Dance presents on average three original productions, including several world premieres. We also welcome and foster up-and-coming guest choreographers, and frequently partner with local musicians and arts organizations.

Mareck Dance has over 60 original compositions in its Company repertoire.

For over a decade, Mareck Dance has been a dynamic pillar of the arts in the community under the direction of Karen Mareck Grundy. Our 9 dancers, who hail from throughout the country, perform at venues and events throughout the area.

Mareck Dance has earned acclaim from the broader dance community through national & international tours, including performances in New York City and South Korea.

Mareck Dance is based in the city of Columbia, home of the University of Missouri and a thriving arts scene. Our resident stage is the magnificent and historic Missouri Theatre, and we are a part of the distinguished University of Missouri Concert Series.
