Dr. Melissa Boldan
Melissa is a veterinarian at Trailside Animal Hospital. She absolutely loves her job and feels fortunate to have the opportunity to forge such strong relationships with people and their pets in this community each and every day. Melissa obtained her doctorate from the MU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and is a proud Tiger and Columbia native. She’s also an avid writer, publishing articles every month for PetMD to help educate pet parents on common conditions that may affect their furred family members. In 2006 she founded an international non-profit organization that collects donated surplus medical supplies and ships them overseas to veterinarians lacking resources. These days, when not at the clinic, she dedicates more of her time closer to home, serving as a liaison for the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, and as a busy mom to her three boys.
Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, Melissa was a theater major her freshman year of college. That lasted until she took an animal science course on a whim, and fell in love with the animal medical field. While she has always loved theater and the arts, her dancing experience has been pretty limited and predominantly consists of kitchen dance parties while cooking with the kids and slow dances with her husband at the occasional wedding. She cannot wait to take on this exciting experience and hopefully help raise money for the Mareck Center and Danceability, providing everyone with access to dancing, movement, creative expression, and celebrating life.
