Lillian Berry

School Instructor

Lillian Berry has been part of Mid-Missouri’s dance community since she was three years old. She began dancing at a local studio, training in many different styles, while also being a member of their competitive dance team. She continued her training at Mareck Center for Dance under the instruction of Caitlin Sloan, Kay Whitney, Fernando Rodriguez and many other former/current MCD instructors. As a student there, Lillian performed in Peter and the Wolf, Karen Mareck Grundy’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and was part of the Youth Ensemble for two years. She also competed at Youth America Grand Prix, and had her choreography “Of Graves and Sleeping Babes” chosen to be performed by the Youth Ensemble at St. Louis National Dance Week in 2019. Throughout the years, she has broadened her dance experience by attending numerous programs including the Kansas City Jazz Dance Intensive and JUMP Dance Convention workshops.

After high school, she continued her dance education at Mareck Center for Dance. During this time, she became a part of MCD’s administrative team, volunteered with the DanceAbility program, and began her journey as a dance teacher. In 2022, she was asked to join City Ballet Theater as a company artist, instructor, and resident choreographer. She was excited to return to Mareck Center for Dance after this, and is thrilled to share her passion for teaching and to help her students find their own creative voice within their dancing.
