Stephen Blood

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, Stephen Blood began dancing in a modern based program at New Trier High School. He continued his training at Northern Illinois University and graduated with a BFA in Dance Performance. He then danced on scholarship with Lou Conte Dance Studio under the direction of Claire Bataille. Stephen started his professional career with the Fort Wayne Ballet, where in addition to dancing, choreographed several works on the main company. Before joining the Mareck Center for Dance, he danced with Wonderbound in Denver, CO. Over the course of his career, some of his favorite works to perform have been Paul Taylor’s Cloven Kingdom Quartet, Gerald Arpino’s Light Rain, Edward Sterile’s Lacrymosa, Darren McIntyre’s Phantom of the Opera, and Garrett Ammon’s Sandman
